Baseball Recap: Raymond Rangers vs. Canton Tigers
Raymond was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 12-9 to the Canton Tigers.
Caiden Willis was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off six hits. Willis was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Carlton Davis stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Xavier Conley, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Raymond's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Canton, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
