Recap: Floydada Whirlwinds vs. Olton Mustangs
The Floydada Whirlwinds lost to the Olton Mustangs back in November of 2022, but the Floydada Whirlwinds didn't allow the Olton Mustangs the same satisfaction on Friday. Floydada secured a 31-25 W over Olton. The win made it back-to-back wins for Floydada.
Tyrean Henderson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 163 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Henderson really tore up the turf during one magnificent 74-yard run. Braun Hobbs got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Olton's loss came despite strong showings from Isaiah Ruiz and Baldo Garcia. Ruiz rushed for 138 yards, while Garcia rushed for 40 yards and two touchdowns.
Floydada's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Olton, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
Floydada does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Olton will be playing in front of their home fans against Farwell at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Farwell has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 199 points over their last four matches.
