Basketball Recap: Byers' Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Byers waltzed into their game on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They enjoyed a cozy 55-37 victory over the Burlington Cougars. The Bulldogs pushed the score to 41-18 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cougars cut but never quite recovered from.

Despite the defeat, Burlington saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Weston Schaal dropped a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds. With that strong performance, Schaal is now averaging an impressive 8 boards per game.

Byers' win bumped their record up to 17-4. As for Burlington, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-15.

Byers wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 58-44 victory against Akron on the 28th. As for Burlington, they have also already played their next matchup, a 60-51 defeat against Holyoke on the 28th.
