Softball Recap: St. Louis Drops Highest Score of Season Against Harrison

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Louis). They put the hurt on the Harrison Hornets with a sharp 16-1 win on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Sharks sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

The team relied heavily on Halle Hoyt, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Hoyt is also crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Kenadie Henry was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: St. Louis kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive contests.

St. Louis' victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Harrison, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Louis will challenge Ogemaw Heights at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Harrison, they will take on Clare at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
