Baseball Recap: Perry County Central Commodores vs. Paintsville Tigers
Perry County Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 13-2 to the Paintsville Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-2 back in March.
Perry County Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Sumner, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Shade Combs also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Perry County Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Paintsville, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Perry County Central will face off against Breathitt County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bobcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Commodores' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Paintsville, they will challenge Letcher County Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
