Basketball Game Preview: South Caldwell Spartans vs. Hibriten Panthers

The South Caldwell Spartans will take on the Hibriten Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. South Caldwell's defense has only allowed 26.5 points per game this season, so Hibriten's offense will have their work cut out for them.

On Tuesday, South Caldwell didn't have too much trouble with West Wilkes as they won 49-30. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

South Caldwell found their leader in sophomore Maggie Wilks, who posted 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wilks has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Holland Weisner, who put up nine points.

Meanwhile, Foard kept up with Hibriten until halftime on Tuesday, but afterwards: not so much. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 47-25 margin over the Tigers. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Hibriten's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for South Caldwell, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

South Caldwell barely slipped by Hibriten when the teams last played back in February, winning 62-61. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Panthers' Aamori Patterson, who went 13-for-26 en route to 40 points and five rebounds. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Spartans still be able to contain Patterson? There's only one way to find out.
