Football Recap: Wake Forest Cougars vs. Wakefield Wolverines        
        
		
             Wake Forest won against Knightdale  last Friday with 31  points and they decided to stick to that  point total again  on Friday. The Wake Forest Cougars came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wakefield Wolverines , sneaking past  31-28. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played  back in October of 2023.
 One reason for the win was Wake Forest's imposing  defense, which managed to get into the backfield for seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by  Jalil Perry and  Holden Sweeney, who racked up  four sacks between them. Perry is also crushing it when it comes to  total tackles: he's   made at least five every time he's  taken the field this season. Another thorn in Wakefield's side was  Jayden Debnam, who made 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defended a pass.
 Despite the loss, Wakefield still got an impressive performance from   Austin Congleton, who threw for 277 yards and four touchdowns.  Kailen Vines-Johnson was in the mix  too, providing Wakefield with two touchdowns.
 The  win made it two in a row for Wake Forest and  bumps their season record up to 3-4. As for Wakefield, their loss was  their fourth straight at home, which  dropped their record down to 1-6.
 Wake Forest wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  match,  a  13-10  victory against Heritage on the 18th. Wakefield has also  already played their next matchup,  a  25-0  defeat against Millbrook on the 18th.
