Softball Recap: La Costa Canyon Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for La Costa Canyon, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Carlsbad Lancers a 5-0 shutout on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mavericks also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Addy Brown made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Norah Coulsell, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Sienna Curry, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

La Costa Canyon is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Carlsbad, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-11.
