Softball Recap: Southampton Academy Wins Going Away Against Windsor

After only two runs in their last matchup, Southampton Academy made sure to put some runs up on the board against Windsor on Friday. Southampton Academy blew past Windsor 10-2. Considering the Raiders have won three games by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Dutchess Rose spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Sara Hodges was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Kelsey Braun, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Southampton Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-4-1. As for Windsor, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southampton Academy will take on Halifax Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Southampton Academy is facing Halifax Academy at the right time seeing as Halifax Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Windsor, they will challenge Isle of Wight Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
