Trinity snaps No. 10 St. Xavier's 14-game win streak, beats Bombers 33-32.

In the biggest high school football game of the year No. 1 Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) rolled past No. 3 St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) 42-21 to improve to 4-0 on the season. The Monarchs outscored the Braves 21-0 in the second half and sophomore quarterback Elijah Brown threw for over 250 yards and five touchdowns in the victory.

Trinity (Louisville) put together one of the toughest schedules of the season and it paid off as they upset No. 10 St. Xavier (Cincinnati) 33-32 in a Kentucky vs. Ohio showdown. The back-to-back 6A state champs snapped the Bombers 14-game winning streak thanks to a fourth-and-goal touchdown run from Armon Tucker with just under a minute left.

Another marquee matchup this week featured No. 19 St. Frances Academy (Baltimore) traveling 2,700-plus miles and they knocked off De La Salle (Concord, Calif.) 42-28. Sophomore quarterback Michael Van Buren threw for four touchdowns completing 16-of-19 passes for 241 yards and four touchdowns.

No. 8 Servite (Anaheim, Calif.) won its Trinity League opener Thursday beating Orange Lutheran (Orange) 56-12. Arizona-bound quarterback Noah Fifita threw for over 400 yards and accounted for six touchdowns while four-star Oregon commit Tetairoa McMillan racked up over 200 yards receiving and four scores. He also had a one-handed interception. The Friars improved to 6-0 and have not trailed through their first six games.

No. 11 Katy (Texas) had its 75-game district winning streak snapped last season against Tompkins (Katy) but got revenge and rolled to a 56-21 win over the Falcons. The Tigers extended their winning streak to 14 and have won 12 of their last 14 games by double-digits.

No. 14 Corner Canyon (Draper, Utah) tied Duchesne's state record of 48 consecutive wins with a 56-0 win over Westlake (Saratoga Springs) and will have a chance to set the new record against Lone Peak (Highland) on Oct. 7.
