Softball Game Preview: Springfield Blue Devils vs. Clay Eagles

The Springfield Blue Devils are taking a road trip to face off against the Clay Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Springfield came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Findlay, falling 8-2.

Meanwhile, Clay came tearing into Monday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Yellow Jackets.

Springfield now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Clay, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3.

Springfield couldn't quite get it done against Clay in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 as they fell 9-5. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
