Baseball Recap: Lexington Find Success

While Lexington's victory against Deer Creek-Mackinaw wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Minutemen narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Chiefs 10-9. That's more bragging rights for the Minutemen, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Kayden Knight was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Lexington: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-7 otherwise. Blaine Friedmansky was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lexington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 6-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Lexington is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Deer Creek-Mackinaw, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-11.
