Volleyball Recap: Moffat County Bulldogs vs. Cedaredge Bruins
Moffat County lost against Cedaredge back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Bruins by a score of 3-2.
Moffat County took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-17, 21-25, 25-19, 18-16.
Meadow Simpson paced Moffat County's offense, picking up eight kills. Simpson got some help from Adrian Profumo and her 21 assists. Bella Vanzo controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.
Cedaredge was led to victory by Lydia Tietz and Oliva Blair. Tietz had 39 assists and 15 digs, while Blair had nine digs and two aces. With that strong performance, Tietz is now averaging an impressive 16 assists per game.
Moffat County has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Cedaredge, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Moffat County and Middle Park will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cedaredge, they will take on Gunnison at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
