Baseball Recap: Bradford Owls vs. Brookville Raiders
Bradford had lost three straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 4-6 to make it four. They lost 10-3 to the Brookville Raiders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in March.
Bradford saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Whitmore, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.
As for Brookville, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-7. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On Brookville's side, Luke Burton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Owen Fleming, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Gage Miller also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Looking ahead, Bradford will head out on the road to take on Port Allegany at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Brookville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Elk County Catholic at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
