Basketball Game Preview: Ingalls Bulldogs vs. Bucklin Red Aces

Ingalls hasn't had much luck against Bucklin recently, but that could start to change on Monday. After both having extra time off, both will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 6:30 p.m.

Ingalls is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest defeat since December 15, 2023 two weeks ago. They took a blow against South Gray, falling 54-24. The match marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Bucklin came into Friday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Pretty Prairie by a score of 54-42 two weeks ago. That 12 point margin sets a new team best for the Red Aces this season.

Ingalls better keep an eye on Karlee Evans. She was instrumental in Bucklin's win, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 13 rebounds. With that strong performance, Evans is now averaging an impressive 8.3 rebounds per game. Another player making a difference was Isabel Bowman, who posted 13 points and five rebounds.

Bucklin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

This is the second loss in a row for Ingalls and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for Bucklin, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Ingalls ended up a good deal behind Bucklin when the teams last played back in March of 2024, losing 62-45. Thankfully for Ingalls, Sydnie Jones (who went 7 of 10 on her way to 19 points in addition to eight boards and four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
