 Castilleja was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight  defeat. They lost  14-5 to the Notre Dame Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Castilleja of the  15-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in April.
  Katherine Cheng was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-4.  Emma Foster was another key contributor,  going 2-for-3 with a  triple, a  stolen base,  and a  run.
 On Notre Dame's side,  Hailey Truong was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out seven over 4.1 innings pitched. Truong was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring three  runs and  stealing two bases while going 1-for-5.
 In other batting news,  Allison Lui was  incredible,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was  Juliette Ramirez, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-4.
 Castilleja's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Notre Dame, the  victory was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-8.
 Castilleja will head out on the road to  challenge  Notre Dame at 3:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Castilleja is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9  runs per game  this season.
