Basketball Recap: Adelson Comes Up Short

Adelson lost against Needles back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Adelson took a blow against the Needles Mustangs, falling 73-17. While losing is never fun, Adelson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 100th in Nevada, while Needles is ranked 20th in California).

It was another big night for Gianna Collier, who went 9 for 11 en route to 25 points and three steals for Needles. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which Collier has scored at least a third of Needles' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Harvey, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Adelson and nudges their season record down to 2-10. As for Needles, they pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Adelson has already played their next contest (against Laughlin), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Needles wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 64-26 win against Mohave Accelerated on the 23rd.
