Softball Game Preview: Ursuline Academy Bears vs. O'Bryant Tigers

The Ursuline Academy Bears are taking a road trip to take on the O'Bryant Tigers at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Ursuline Academy has given up an average of 8.1 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Ursuline Academy came up short against Cardinal Spellman on Wednesday, falling 14-3. The Bears have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Ursuline Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emersyn Smart, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Celia Mitchell also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Lynn Classical hit O'Bryant with a seven-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers lost 17-5 to the Rams. The Tigers' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Ursuline Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for O'Bryant, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
