Baseball Game Preview: Henderson County Colonels vs. Evansville Harrison Warriors

The Henderson County Colonels will take on the Evansville Harrison Warriors at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Things were looking good for Henderson County after they put the first runs on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Breckinridge County by a score of 3-2.

Cole Thompson was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Evansville Harrison didn't have quite enough to beat Princeton on Wednesday and fell 4-3. The Warriors have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Evansville Harrison saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ty Speer, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Tyler Singleton was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Henderson County dropped their record down to 2-8 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Evansville Harrison, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
