The Staples Wreckers will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against the Nonnewaug Chiefs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Staples is headed out to face Nonnewaug after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. The Wreckers' pitchers stepped up to hand McMahon a 12-0 shutout on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Nonnewaug put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 21-0 margin over Lakeview. Fans of the Chiefs have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Scarlett Ivey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Nonnewaug always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .684. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.
