Basketball Recap: Middletown Comes Up Short

Middletown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by the Oak Hills Highlanders 42-11. While losing is never fun, the Middies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 373rd, while the Highlanders are ranked 163rd).

Camille Helvey was Middletown's leading scorer, having posted nine points. Leila Johnson held things down on the boards with six rebounds. Olivia Miller took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

Middletown's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Oak Hills, their record is now 10-6.

Middletown wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 65-23 loss against Princeton on the 25th. As for Oak Hills, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 41-32 defeat against Lakota West on the 25th.
