Basketball Game Preview: Wyndmere/Lidgerwood Warbirds vs. Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier Rangers

The Wyndmere/Lidgerwood Warbirds will head out to take on the Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier Rangers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Wyndmere/Lidgerwood is headed into the match having just suffered their closest loss since January 14th on Thursday. They fell just short of Barnes County North co-op [North Central/Wimbledon-Courtenay] by a score of 47-45.

Meanwhile, Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier waltzed into their contest on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They blew past the Imperials 74-29. Given the Rangers' advantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Imperials are ranked 107th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier pushed their record up to 13-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points over those games. As for Wyndmere/Lidgerwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Wyndmere/Lidgerwood came up short against Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, falling 61-51. Can Wyndmere/Lidgerwood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
