After losing to Bowie the last time they met, Ysleta decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Ysleta Indians' defense stepped up to hand the Bowie Bears a 2-0 shutout on Friday. Give the Indians' defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Kevin Portillo and Alan Nevarez scored both of Ysleta's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 19 goals.

Ysleta has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 33 goals over those nine matchups. Bowie's loss dropped their record down to 10-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ysleta will challenge Austin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ysleta is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.2 goals per game this season. As for Bowie, they will square off against Harmony Science Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
