Baseball Recap: Tiverton Find Success

Tiverton posted their closest win since April 22nd on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Providence Country Day Knights, sneaking past 7-5. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the Knights back in April, they had to take a 5-3 loss.

Tiverton got a great performance from Aiden Silvia as he struck out ten batters over 5.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Those ten strikeouts gave Silvia a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Kamryn Rego was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Tiverton's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 7-2 (and 4-10 when he doesn't). Shaun Whalen also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Tiverton and bumps their season record up to 11-12. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Providence Country Day, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-9.

As of now, neither Tiverton nor the Knights have any future games scheduled.
