Baseball Recap: Countryside Christian's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Countryside Christian proved they can win big last Monday (they won by six) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Eastside Rams 3-2. The three-run effort marked the Minutemen's lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

The team relied heavily on Hunter Burgess, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Preston Thompson, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

The victory (which was Countryside Christian's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Eastside, their defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8-2.

Looking ahead, Countryside Christian will face off against Meadowbrook Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Countryside Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.7 runs per game this season. As for Eastside, they will take on P.K. Yonge at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
