Softball Recap: Mt. Carmel Falls Short Against Ranked Vandebilt Catholic

Mt. Carmel faced Vandebilt Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Cubs fell just short of the Terriers by a score of 9-8. The Cubs just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Mt. Carmel's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Vandebilt Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-2 record this season.

Mt. Carmel will square off against Archbishop Hannan at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games the Hawks have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Vandebilt Catholic, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, an 8-4 win against Academy of Our Lady on the 5th.
