Soccer Game Preview: Sugar Creek Charter vs. Mountain Island Charter

The Sugar Creek Charter Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Mountain Island Charter Raptors at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Sugar Creek Charter has given up an average of 5.6 goals per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Sugar Creek Charter is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten goals last Wednesday, they were much more limited against Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy on Wednesday. They lost 9-0 to the Gryphons. While losing is never fun, Sugar Creek Charter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 535th, while Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy are ranked 107th).

Meanwhile, Mountain Island Charter unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Wednesday. They came up short against Piedmont Community Charter, falling 7-4. The contest was a close 3-2 at the break, but unfortunately for Mountain Island Charter it sure didn't stay that way.

Mountain Island Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Sugar Creek Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.

Sugar Creek Charter might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Mountain Island Charter in their previous matchup back in September. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
