Basketball Recap: Garland Takes a Loss

Garland fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Rowlett on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rowlett Eagles by a score of 34-31. The Owls have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Garland lost, don't look at Mahedia Koko. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance gave Koko a new career-high in rebounds.

Garland's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Rowlett, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-11 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Wylie the next time they take the court. Rowlett will head out to face Wylie at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while Garland will host them at 6:00 p.m. on December 17th.
