Basketball Recap: Jayden Morris' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Colonial Forge over Langley

After a string of three wins, Colonial Forge's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 56-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Langley Saxons.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jayden Morris, who posted 21 points. That's the most points Morris has posted since back in February of 2024. Finn Perschau was another key player, putting up 13 points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Colonial Forge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in seven consecutive matches.

Colonial Forge's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Langley, their victory bumped their record up to 7-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Colonial Forge has already played their next game (against North Stafford), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Langley will take on George C. Marshall at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
