Softball Recap: Antwerp Find Success

With a playoff win on the line, Antwerp rose to the challenge on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Continental Pirates 3-2. The Archers haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Elle Clem made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off nine hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Caroline Rohrs was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Haydyn Lengacher was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Antwerp's record now sits at 11-13. As for Continental, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-8.

Coming up, Antwerp will take on Ayersville at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Pilots will roll in looking for their 16th straight victory, something the Archers surely won't give up without a fight. Continental does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
