Basketball Recap: Montevideo Comes Up Short

After flying high against Luverne last Saturday, Montevideo came back down to earth. The Montevideo Thunderhawks took a 52-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lakeview Lakers. The Thunderhawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lakers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2022.

Montevideo's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Lakeview, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Montevideo will venture away from home to take on Sauk Centre at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sauk Centre will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Montevideo surely won't give up without a fight. Lakeview and Yellow Medicine East will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
