Basketball Recap: Palmetto Scholars Academy Takes a Loss

Palmetto Scholars Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost to the Branchville Yellow Jackets at home by a 56-41 margin.

Despite the loss, Palmetto Scholars Academy still got an impressive performance from Michael King, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds. King has been hot recently, having posted nine or more boards the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jesse Murray, who posted five points and six rebounds.

Palmetto Scholars Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Branchville, their victory bumped their record up to 7-11.

Looking ahead, Palmetto Scholars Academy will venture away from home to take on St. John's at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Palmetto Scholars Academy is facing St. John's at the right time seeing as St. John's is stuck on an 18-game losing streak. As for Branchville, they will square off against Cross at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cross knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Branchville likes a good challenge.
