Strath Haven is 8-2 against Springfield since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Panthers will be playing at home against the Cougars at 3:45 p.m. Strath Haven's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Springfield's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Strath Haven is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Ridley on Monday by a score of 9-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Panthers with their most commanding win of the season.

Caden Shuster made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Strath Haven is 3-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Shuster was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alex Selverian, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Milligan, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Strath Haven was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Springfield took on Penncrest on Thursday. The Cougars walked away with a 7-3 win over the Lions. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.
TJ Valletti was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Valletti was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other pitching news, Connor Manuel looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits.
Back at the plate, Nick Corse was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. David DeJohn was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Strath Haven pushed their record up to 6-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Springfield, their victory bumped their record up to 4-11.
Everything went Strath Haven's way against Springfield in their previous matchup back in March, as Strath Haven made off with a 6-0 win. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
