Softball Preview: Golden Demons vs. Conifer Lobos        
        
		
             The Golden Demons will venture away from home to  square off against the Conifer Lobos  at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday. Golden will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
 On Thursday, Golden earned  a  7-3 victory over Wheat Ridge.
  Adrianna Riddle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned  (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. With that strong performance,  she is now averaging an impressive 5.1  innings per game.
 At the plate,  Madeline Stubenrauch was  excellent,  scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances. She is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  stolen two or more in the last five games she's  played dating back to last season.  Daely Peterson was another key player,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
 Golden  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved they're  strikeout total in three consecutive  games.
 Meanwhile, Conifer didn't have quite enough to beat D'Evelyn on Thursday and fell  4-2. The  contest marked the Lobos' lowest-scoring  matchup so far this season.
  Jesse Nichols was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She  didn't allow a single  earned run over six innings pitched. Nichols was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-3 with two  doubles and  an  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Eleanor Sikora made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  scored a  run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Ruby Haver, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-2.
 The  win  got Golden back to even at 5-5. As for Conifer,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 6-2.
 Golden's speedy runners might be the difference in Saturday's   match. Golden has been swiping bases left and right this season,  having  averaged 5.3  stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Conifer, though, as  they've been averaging  only 0.4. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Golden continue to outrun the ball?
 Golden was able to grind out a solid  victory over Conifer in their previous matchup  back in October of 2023, winning  8-5. Will Golden repeat their success,  or does  Conifer have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
