Baseball Recap: Waterloo's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Waterloo dropped their record down to 4-7 on Friday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 12-2 to the Sodus Spartans. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Tigers couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Sodus, they pushed their record up to 12-0 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. 12 seems to be a good number for they as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

For Sodus' part, Evan Laird was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Laird is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Orbaker, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Looking ahead, Waterloo will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Geneva at 7:00 p.m. The Tigers are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Sodus, they will head out on the road to challenge Williamson at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Spartans' pitcher better be ready for this one: the Marauders have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season.
