Basketball Recap: A.L. Brown Comes Up Short

A.L. Brown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a blow against the Lake Norman Wildcats, falling 73-16. The Wonders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-12.

Despite the defeat, A.L. Brown saw an underclassman step up: freshman Michaela Buster posted nine points.

Kelsey Rhyne was her usual excellent self, going 6 for 12 en route to 14 points and seven assists for Lake Norman. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Shehan, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 11 points and four steals.

A.L. Brown's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Lake Norman, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-1.

A.L. Brown has already played their next contest, a 43-37 defeat against South Iredell on the 16th. As for Lake Norman, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 80-29 win against Cox Mill on the 16th.
