Softball Recap: Monticello Comes Up Short

Monticello was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 14-11 to the Lone Tree Lions. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in June of 2024.

Monticello's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Lone Tree, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Monticello didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-9 loss against West Branch on the 9th. As for Lone Tree, they have also already played their next matchup, a 15-4 win against Hillcrest Academy on the 10th.
