Mira Costa had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the St. Francis Golden Knights as they made off with a 45-19 victory. The Mustangs pushed the score to 45-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Golden Knights cut but never quite recovered from.

Mira Costa got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was AJ McBean out in front who rushed for 185 yards on only 14 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Kingston Davies, who gained 184 total yards.

St. Francis' loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mira Costa will take on Redondo Union at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Francis, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will take on Notre Dame (SO) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
