Basketball Recap: D.H. Conley Vikings vs. Havelock Rams
There's no place like home for D.H. Conley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They slipped by the Havelock Rams 65-64 on Friday. This was payback for the Vikings, who suffered a 59-45 loss the last time these two teams met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead D.H. Conley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Shammah Cabell, who went 5 of 9 en route to 15 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Khaliq Boston, who posted 12 points and seven assists.
D.H. Conley was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Havelock only racked up five assists.
Havelock's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zyking Patillo, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. Patillo is becoming a predictor of Havelock's success: when he posts at least ten boards the team is 3-1 (and 1-3 when he doesn't). As for Havelock, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 74-64 victory against Jacksonville on the 7th.
