Softball Recap: East St. Louis Flyers vs. O'Fallon Panthers
East St. Louis had lost ten straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 1-16 to make it 11. They came up short against the O'Fallon Panthers, falling 21-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 last Wednesday.
East St. Louis saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adre'Onna Harris, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
As for O'Fallon, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-15. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On O'Fallon's side, Kennedy Clark was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Clark was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Ali Frickleton was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three RBI and two runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Haylee Williams was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four runs.
East St. Louis wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 14-0 loss against Alton on the 20th. As for O'Fallon, they have also already played their next contest, an 18-11 defeat against Mascoutah on the 19th.
