Football Recap: Kohen Brown Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Forney

Waxahachie barely beat Forney the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Indians were the clear victors by a 35-14 margin over the Jackrabbits on Friday. The Indians have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Jackrabbits, too.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Waxahachie to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kohen Brown, who picked up 141 receiving yards and two TDs. Brown's receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 114 receiving yards dating back to last season. Jordan Smith was in the mix as well, providing Waxahachie with two scores.

Forney lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Nelson Peterson Jr., who threw for 176 yards and one touchdown.

Waxahachie has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 27 points this season. As for Forney, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Coming up, Waxahachie will host Duncanville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Indians' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Forney, they will venture away from home to face off against Boswell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
