Basketball Recap: DSST: Green Valley Ranch Comes Up Short

DSST: Green Valley Ranch lost against Denver West back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The DSST: Green Valley Ranch Raptors had to suffer through a 58-20 loss at the hands of the Denver West Cowboys. The Raptors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-10.

Denver West's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marilyn Vega, who went 7 for 12 en route to 14 points and six boards. The dominant performance gave Vega a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Shukri Hussein, who went 5 of 9 to rack up 11 points along with five rebounds and four blocks.

DSST: Green Valley Ranch dropped their record down to 2-14 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Denver West, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-7.

Looking ahead, DSST: Green Valley Ranch will take on Kennedy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Denver West, they will challenge DSST: College View at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
