Basketball Recap: Jordan Noel's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mcarthur over Monarch

McArthur lost against Monarch back in November of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The McArthur Mustangs took a 63-44 bruising from the Monarch Knights. The matchup marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

McArthur lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jordan Noel, who posted five points along with six boards and three steals. Joshua Barber was another key player, putting up six points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Monarch got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nikyle Campbell out in front who went 8 of 12 on his way to 18 points and four steals. Those four steals gave Campbell a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sidney Lewinsky, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards.

McArthur dropped their record down to 2-4 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Monarch, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

McArthur didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-49 defeat against Nova on the 9th. As for Monarch, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 51-46 loss against Flanagan on the 11th.
