Volleyball Recap: North Johnston Comes Up Short + How To Watch

North Johnston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

North Johnston wouldn't go down easily and took SouthWest Edgecombe into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking nine-point loss. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-19, 21-25, 25-27, 15-6.

When it comes to explaining why North Johnston lost, don't look at Callie Lancaster. Despite the final result, she had 20 kills and two aces. Lancaster has been hot, having posted two or more aces the last six times she's played. Kathryn Pitts was another key player, getting 25 assists.

North Johnston's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for SouthWest Edgecombe, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

North Johnston wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Lexington Senior on the 18th. As for SouthWest Edgecombe, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against West Craven on the 18th.
