Basketball Recap: Putnam Comes Up Short

If Putnam was riding high fresh off their 69-49 takedown of Hillsboro last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Putnam Kingsmen received a blow on Friday as they fell 73-56 to the Canby Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-51 back in January.

Putnam's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Canby, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Putnam will square off against Hood River Valley at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Canby, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cougars face off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Wilsonville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 17 contests.
