Football Game Preview: San Benito Greyhounds vs. Weslaco Panthers

The San Benito Greyhounds will take on the Weslaco Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. San Benito is looking for their season's first victory.

Last Friday, San Benito lost to Varsity Opponent at home by a 21-3 margin.

Meanwhile, Weslaco scored first but ultimately less than United in their contest on Saturday. They fell 40-30 to the Longhorns. While the Panthers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Longhorns 6-0 in the first quarter.

Loss or not, Weslaco got some senior leadership from Chris Luna and Joseph Leal. Luna threw for 206 yards and four touchdowns on only 17 passes, while Leal picked up 121 receiving yards and four TDs. Leal's longest reception was for an impressive 56 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total.

San Benito's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Weslaco, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
