Volleyball Game Preview: South El Monte Eagles vs. Mountain View Vikings

The South El Monte Eagles will head out to square off against the Mountain View Vikings at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. South El Monte is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Wednesday. South El Monte came up short against Marshall, falling 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-21, 25-16.

South El Monte's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Lexis Jacobo, who had 24 digs, and Alex Lopez, who had 12 digs. That's the most digs Lopez has posted over his last six games.

Meanwhile, Mountain View had just enough and edged out El Monte 3-2 on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (105-102) Mountain View actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 25-21, 13-25, 25-20, 24-26, 15-13.

Mountain View's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for South El Monte, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.
