Basketball Game Preview: Elyria Pioneers vs. Avon Eagles

The Elyria Pioneers will face off against the Avon Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Elyria's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matchups.

Last Friday, Elyria earned an 83-74 victory over Berea-Midpark.

Jayden Crutcher was his usual excellent self, going 9 for 13 en route to 27 points and eight boards. Those eight rebounds gave him a new career-high. Cam Bell was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 14 boards.

Meanwhile, Avon had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Avon Lake by a score of 47-40 on Friday.

Elyria has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.6 points per game. As for Avon, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

Elyria beat Avon 58-48 in their previous meeting last Saturday. Will Elyria repeat their success, or does Avon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
