Basketball Game Preview: Brewer Bears vs. Fossil Ridge Panthers

The Brewer Bears will head out on the road to take on the Fossil Ridge Panthers at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Brewer will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Brewer didn't have too much trouble with Chisholm Trail as they won 47-28. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while the Rangers are ranked 356th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fossil Ridge). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Azle 75-37. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Panthers have posted since November 19, 2024.

Brewer pushed their record up to 21-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Fossil Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.

Brewer skirted past Fossil Ridge 48-46 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brewer since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
