Northern Lakes league recap: 5/22/13

Top honors in the league this week go to Plymouth, which finished with three wins overall, good for best in the league. The Pilgrims beat Knox 1-0 and Boone Grove 3-0.

Northern Lakes' top pitcher this week was Concord's Steve Pinarski. He racked up seven strike outs this week.

The Minutemen's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 21 hits and ten walks to lead the league in both categories.

Four batters hit over .400 this week. Leading the pack was Taylor Miller, who hit .571 by going 4-for-7.

Six RBIs over the past week allowed Concord's Nick de Freese to boost his season output so far to 25, tops in the league.

De Freese drove in five runners on Wednesday in the Minutemen's 18-1 victory over Wawasee. He went 2-for-2 and scored two runs.
